An Oracle Reading & Real Talk on Being Overlooked

Have you ever been around someone who makes you feel invisible? You smile. You show up. You offer kindness. And yet, they still act like they’ve never met you before. That was me tonight.

Tony and I were at another swim meet. Someone Tony knows – someone I’ve now seen multiple times—walked straight up to him to chat about work. After their conversation, she turned to me and said:

“I’m sorry… what’s your name again?”

Cue the internal scream.

It might sound small, but there’s something jarring about being forgotten—especially when you’ve been nothing but present. It feels dismissive, like I don’t matter. And unfortunately, it’s not the first time I’ve experienced this in our social circle. I’ve gotten used to being “the girl with Tony” instead of Lex, the woman with a whole heart, mind, and identity.

Naturally, I pulled some oracle cards.

Tonight’s deck: Angel Dreams Oracle

The cards that came through: Food, Orange, and Autumn.

🍽️ Food – Nourishment, Relationships, Health

This card hit home. It wasn’t about literal food—it was about emotional nourishment. Relationships are supposed to feed your soul, not drain it. And right now, I’m starving for acknowledgment in certain spaces. It’s not just this person Tony knows; it’s a pattern. I show up, but I’m not seen.

This card whispered to me:

You deserve more than crumbs. You deserve connection that feeds you.

🧡 Orange – Creativity, Change

Orange is the color of the sacral chakra—the seat of our emotions, boundaries, and creativity. This card told me to alchemize the frustration. To turn it into fire. To create from it. Whether it’s this blog post, a video, or just a journal entry—this energy wants to be expressed.

It’s also a card of change. And maybe this is the shift.

The reminder: Stop trying to be remembered by people who were never meant to hold space for you.

🍂 Autumn – Abundance, Preparation, Harvest

This card brought peace. Autumn is the season of reaping what we’ve sown. And I’ve been doing a lot of inner work—growing, healing, showing up with love even when it’s hard. This card told me that the right people are coming. The kind who see me. Who say my name with warmth. Who know I’m not just “Tony’s wife,” but a whole-ass force.

This isn’t a season of chasing. It’s a season of trusting.

If someone can’t see your magic, they’re not your people.

💬 Your Name is Sacred

Tonight stung. But the cards reminded me that my name is sacred. My presence is potent. And if someone chooses to forget that—then maybe they were never meant to remember me in the first place.

To anyone out there who’s ever felt overlooked or dismissed in a space where you were just trying to belong:

You’re not alone.

You’re not forgettable.

And your name?

It carries stories that some souls simply aren’t ready to hear.

🖤 Have you ever felt invisible in a space that was supposed to welcome you?
