31 Days of October: A Photo + Writing Challenge
Day 30 Photo Prompt: Spooky Selfie
Writing Prompt: What’s something about your spooky/witchy side that you’ve learned to embrace?
I’ve always believed there’s something powerful about intuition. That little feeling in your gut when something doesn’t seem right. The energy you pick up from someone before they’ve even said much. That quiet voice inside you telling you to pay attention.
For a long time, I don’t think I gave myself enough credit for those feelings.
But as I’ve gotten older, one thing I’ve really started embracing about my witchy side is my intuition and learning to trust myself more.
I’ve always felt like I’m pretty sensitive to the energy around me. Sometimes I can walk into a room or interact with someone and immediately feel that something is off.
I can’t always explain why. Sometimes there’s nothing obvious happening. It’s just a feeling.
And I’ve learned that I don’t always need to have an explanation for every feeling I experience.
Protecting My Energy Is a Form of Self-Respect
One of the biggest things I’m learning is that not everyone deserves the same amount of my time, attention, and energy.
I’m naturally someone who cares deeply. I want to see the good in people. I want to give people chances, understand their perspectives, and make connections.
But I’ve also learned that constantly pouring energy into people or situations that leave me feeling drained isn’t always healthy.
If someone’s energy feels off, I don’t necessarily need to confront them, judge them, or make a big deal out of it.
Sometimes I can simply acknowledge how I feel, pay attention to their actions, and choose how much of myself I’m willing to invest.
Not every situation deserves a reaction. Not every person deserves unlimited access to me.
And that’s something I’m still learning.
A Little Witchy Wisdom
I think part of embracing my witchy side has been recognizing that there’s more to my spiritual journey than tarot cards, oracle decks, candles, crystals, or rituals.
Those are all things I enjoy exploring, but the deeper connection comes from within.
It’s about slowing down enough to listen to myself.
It’s about recognizing patterns, understanding my emotions, setting boundaries, and trusting that I can make decisions that are right for me.
And sometimes it’s about accepting that my intuition might be telling me to pay closer attention rather than immediately assuming I know the whole story.
The Magic of Growing Older
I think one of the beautiful things about getting older is becoming more comfortable with who you are.
You start realizing that you don’t have to explain every decision, prove every feeling, or convince everyone to understand you.
You can be kind and still have boundaries.
You can love people and still protect your peace.
You can be open-minded while also trusting your own judgment.
And you can embrace your inner witch without needing anyone else’s approval.
My Day 30 Reflection
If there’s one thing my witchy journey has taught me, it’s that my energy is valuable, and I get to decide where I spend it.
I’m still learning. I’m still growing. And I’m certainly not perfect at trusting myself all the time.
But I’m getting better.
And maybe that’s the real magic of it all.
Not predicting the future or knowing everything that’s going to happen.
Just learning to listen to yourself a little more each day.
A Little Question for You:
Have you ever had a gut feeling about someone or something that you couldn’t explain? Do you tend to trust your intuition, or do you second-guess yourself?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Until next time, keep finding the magic in the everyday.
