Today’s daily writing prompt asks: What’s a completely useless fact you love sharing?
At first, I genuinely couldn’t think of anything. I’m not exactly the person walking around sharing random facts about history, science, or how many hearts an octopus has.
But then it hit me.
I will absolutely tell you when I got something on sale.
Did you compliment my sweater? Thank you! It was originally $50, but I got it for $15!
Like my new decorations? Thanks! They were on clearance!
Notice something cute in my house? Oh, just wait until I tell you how much I paid for it!
Nobody asked. Nobody needed to know. But here I am, practically giving you a full breakdown of the original price, the discount, and how much money I saved.
And honestly? I don’t even know why I do it.
Maybe it’s because finding a good deal feels like a little victory. There’s just something satisfying about getting something you really like without paying full price.
It’s almost like I need someone else to appreciate the bargain as much as I do.
Forget showing off expensive things. I’m over here proudly announcing that I got something for 70% off!
So, if you ever compliment something I’m wearing or something in my home, just know there’s a pretty good chance you’re about to hear how much I saved.
Because apparently, my useless talent is turning a simple compliment into a clearance-sale success story.
And you know what? I’m perfectly okay with that.
Now I’m curious. Are you someone who proudly announces your bargains, too? Or do you just say thank you like a normal person?
Until next time,
Create the magic!
